In response to Matt's request below, I saw about 5 TREE SWALLOWS Tuesday
morning (February 27) over Delta Ponds, just north of Valley River
Center. It was cold, and there were intermittent squalls.

Alan's comments about unhappy turkey vultures flying north got me to

thinking about the movement of tree swallows that were sighted up and

down the valley a week and a half ago. That was a gorgeous weekend,

but now it is snowing and in the 30s. The last entry for tree swallows

on birdnotes is 2/19. Has anyone seen any of the swallows in the last

few days? If not, does that mean they probably came north a bit too

early to survive? Or does it mean they just continued north (and if

so, what are the chances of them surviving anywhere north of here)?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt
