I birded Seaside on March 1. Best bird was a SLATY-BACKED GULL at the Cove. The bird is in adult plumage, except for a few black spots in the tail. The mantle and wing pattern was similar to that of a Western Gull. A dusky hood covered the entire head, neck, and breast, and even extended onto the white belly. The eyes were pale. 

For those who keep track of dead birds: I found a fresh adult Blacked-legged Kittiwake carcass at the Necanicum estuary.
