[obol] John Rakestraw's Gull

John has sent me photos of the gull he saw. I've already warned him that it 
is not what he was hoping. It is not a Slaty-backed Gull.

There is a good opportunity for teaching, here, so I hope John doesn't mind 
if I post the photos anyway. How would a Slaty-backed look different? What 
are the tell-tale marks for identifying this gull?
