Hi Birders and others; isn't spring great! Out near Pleasant Hill southeast
of Eugene, yesterday (Friday) we had our first female Rufous Hummingbird.
This morning all the feeders were active with all kinds of birds. It's
great! Rufous and Anna's Hummingbirds, Scrub and
Steller's Jays, Lesser and American Goldfinch, House Finch, Dark-eyed
Junco, Song Sparrow, Spotted Towhee, one Varied Thrush, Red-breasted
Nuthatch, Black-capped Chickadee, American Crow, Northern Flicker, Wild
Turkey, Red-shouldered Hawk in the back woods, and in the
pond---Ring-necked, Wood, Mallard Ducks, and Canada Geese. What a beautiful
morning! Happy birding! Les Colburn
