[obol] Gull Discussion

All,
I want to extend my appreciation for the gull discussion.  At Clark 75% of 
the time, the only birds I have a decent amount of time to view are the gull 
flocks that viciously hunt earthworms all day long on our lawn.

Since the pellet plant on Sauvie Island ceased operation, the flock 
composition had become much more monocultural until this year:  I used to 
see many more Thayer's and Herring Gulls than I do now, and would get one 
Glaucous a year.

Thiis year I am seeing many more gulls that are throwing me for a loop--I 
suspect some of these are the Herring x Glaucous-winged crosses that people 
are talking about more.  So having this discussion for some of us who are 
simply unable to get into the field as much as we used to is really helpful.
