      A "really weird looking dark juvenile" shrike?
Maybe it wasn't a Northern. In the winter of  1987
there was a Brown Shrike in the vicinity of Pt Reyes,
CA. Someone gave me detailed directions on how to find
it, which I never bothered with. I have no idea what their
distinguishing marks are, but I guess it's a Far Eastern
species that could show up in Oregon.  Lars Norgren
