Anne and I spent a couple of hours at the previously disclosed site where the Brown Thrasher has been seen intermittently over the last several months, namely at the corner of Lorane Hwy and Fox Hollow Rd.
We watched the suet feeder, and aside from the usual suspects (juncos, chickadees, towhees, etc.), the only rare bird we saw was an out-of-range Wayne Weber of Delta, BC, Canada. A flock of "Wild" Turkeys were visiting the ground feeders of the neighbors immediately to the west before they flew off to the south. One male Purple Finch was singing from the top of an Oak alongside the road.
Wayne reported finding the SUMMER TANAGER at approximately 815am at the Alvadore feeder where it has been visiting for several weeks. I believe he was going to stop by the Falcated Duck site before heading north as well. He will post his results I presume.
Good Birding,
Dan Heyerly
Eugene
