Special Notes:

The AMERICAN BITTERN was at the end of the Rail Trail at Ankeny NWR.

The OSPREY was our first of the season.

We found the COMMON TEAL (Eurasian race of the Green-winged Teal) in the
pond at the corner of Ankeny Hill Road and Buena Vista road. We saw it with
scopes from the overlook on Ankeny Hill Rd.

We found the YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD at the pond at the corner of Ankeny
Hill Road and Buena Vista road. We saw it with scopes from the overlook on
Ankeny Hill Rd.

At the kiosk overlooking Cabel Marsh at Finley NWR we observed a Northern
Flicker which had a red crescent on its nape and a red moustache mark on its
face, making it an intergrade flicker.

We ended the day on Saturday at McFadden Marsh with the VARIED THRUSH
singing from atop a tree east of the bridge. Nice.

The next Audubon Birding Weekend is going to Coos Bay, April 28-29, 2007.

Good birding, everyone,
