We have a Sooty phase Fox Sparrow visiting  today. He is larger than the resident Whitecrowned and Chipping Sparrows that have been here all winter. His style of feeding is different also. He scratches and digs to get what he wants. We compared him to Sibley's Sooty and have a match. I took pictures but they aren't that good as they are through the window and he was not close to the house.
He joins our Darkeyed Junco's, Say's Phoebe, Western Kingbird, Flicker, Yellowheaded and Redwinged Blackbirds.
