While on a hike at Tryon Creek State Park this morning with a group of Salem
Chemeketans, we had sustained looks at a Barred Owl about 20 ft. from the
Cedar Trail at eye level. I suspect this is the same owl reported to be in
the park a week or two ago.
The trilliums at Tryon Creek are at their peak for this weekend's annual
Trillium Festival. The second year of "Natural Cycles" celebration of Art in
the Forest "adds a new dimension of interpretation and understanding to the
visitor's experience of the park." There will be a native plant sale
Saturday and Sunday. If you're in the area, I recommend it! The park is near
Lewis and Clark's Law School and downtown Lake Oswego.
