now.

Marilyn Van Dyke knew that I was hoping to photograph a WESTERN
BLUEBIRD nest, if the opportunity presented itself. Today she removed
an abandoned clutch in a nestbox that had been taken over by an
invader, so I took advantage. If interested in what Bluebirds use for
nesting material, and the appearance of their eggs, you can see a
photo at: http://empids.blogspot.com/.

And speaking of nests... The WHITE-TAILED KITES on the west side of
McMinnville, are continuing to be very attentive to whatever is in
their nest, but nothing is moving around in it yet. The female took a
two-minute break at 6:00 p.m. while the male perched about five feet
above the nest. It appeared that she flew down to the nearby creek,
and then got right back to the task of incubation.
