A very approachable SOLITARY SANDPIPER was tanking up in a soggy field
near the Willamette R. this morning. For a couple of hours it
appeared to be eating small critters almost continuously. A good
photo-op.
There were also many more GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS than I've ever seen
in that same area. Two bright WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were feeding
with them. WARBLING VIREOS and YELLOW WARBLERS were making lots of
music, and the baby BALD EAGLES are as big as chickens already.
