[obol] Agate Hall swifts

Tonight the swifts began entering the chimney in numbers about 8pm and
continued until just past 8:35.  I estimate around 10,000.  This is based on
an average entering rate of 10 every 3 seconds.  They did not swarm and
circle as they do in the fall, but they continued to arrive from afar as
they poured in.  There was a funnel, but not a huge doughnut overhead as
there is in the fall.

 

Agate Hall in at the east end of the U of O campus, on Agate St., Eugene.
