This morning my yard hosted a heavily spotted towhee, probably a migrant, as
I don't get towhees in winter or summer.

There were also two female Rufous hummers, the first Rufous I have seen in
the yard since last August, save one migrant male. One of the females had a
full-body experience in the birdbath while the other used the feeder.

AS I WRITE at 8:45 a male CALLIOPE Hummingbird has come in, my first ever
here in the yard, and is bathing. Quite a sight and an interesting size
comparison, the female RUHUs having just left. Must have been a hummer
movement last night.
