Janelle Wesley is the Lincoln County Compiler for the North American
Migration Count (NAMC) and writes:

Celebrate International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) and Mother's Day this
weekend by participating in the spring North American Migration Count! The
count will occur on Saturday May 12 (IMBD) and Sunday May 13 (Mothers Day)
for Lincoln County.

You can count birds for a short time or all day at
several sites or at a single site, such as your feeder. However, please be
sure to record the date(s) you are counting and the site location(s). We
are not encouraging the counting of numbers within species, but would like
the number of species seen. We feel this will allow counters to cover more
of their counties. Counters are more able to count the number of species
at each location then move on. (However for those who wish to continue
counting numbers within species you may still send that data to Kimdel
Owen (kimdelo at yahoo.com).

The Lincoln County NAMC Coordinator is Janelle
Wesley (541-574-3122; janelle_wesley at blm.gov). Please send your bird count
records to Janelle Wesley or you can send your data to Range Bayer
(rbayer at orednet.org) who will relay them to Janelle.

Email Janelle to receive an Excel data sheet that can be helpful in
recording your observations.

This is a worthwhile, ongoing, fun project! Participation makes a good
excuse for getting outside to bird! Thanks for your help!
