I have received a few lists from people who birded on Saturday in Lane
County. There was good coverage at Fern Ridge and at the coast, but we
still have some gaps in the species list, which totals 130 so far.
Some highlights include 14 BLACK-NECKED STILTS and 8 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS
at Fern Ridge Reservoir, a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT at Kirk Park that was
audible from the restroom next to the parking lot past the gate, and a ROCK
WREN foraging in the driftwood at Devil's Elbow.
If you birded in Lane County on Saturday, May 12, I would appreciate it if
you would send me a list of species you saw and information on how much time
you spent birding, how far you traveled while birding, and where you were in
the county. Thank you!
