Today I birded at Ridgefield NWR (~4mi W of I-5 at
Exit 14 in SW Washington;
http://www.fws.gov/ridgefieldrefuges/ ) from about 8a
to 5p. It was a wonderful day.

I made two loops of the River "S" Unit and on the
first loop I birded quite a bit with Joe Koutney
including our walk on the Kiwa Trail.

We did NOT see the W-F Ibis. I am not aware of anyone
that saw them today. Maybe the weekend will bring
better luck.

Our best birds seen for the day were:

WILLOW FLYCATCHER (in woods/brushline along canal
after "hunters gate")
VIRGINIA RAIL (1 off the right of the first bridge on
the Kiwa Trail walking clockwise)
SORA (2 in the wetland N of the Blind parking lot)
AM BITTERN (at least half a dozen flying)
PIED-BILLED GREBE (3-Babies)
BLUE-WINGED TEAL
REDEHEAD (2 drakes and one hen)
RUDDY DUCK (Lots; several displaying/water dancing
drakes)
