[obol] 5/26/07 Salem area birds

I went to Baskett Slough around noon to chase the Ibis that Ben Young 
reported yesterday.

A partial list of birds seen today in the Salem area:
WESTERN GREBE
BALD EAGLE
OSPREY
CANADA GOOSE
BLACK NECKED STILT
WILSON'S PHALAROPE
WHITE FACED IBIS
AMERICAN BITTERN
BLACK TERN
MARSH WREN
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD
SORA
VIRGINIA RAIL
LESSER SCAUP
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT

It would have been hard, or impossible, to find most of these species in 
Polk/Marion County 3 decades ago.
