Last evening (May 27), at about 5:30 p.m., my family and I observed a pair
of BLUE-WINGED TEAL at the Atfalat'i Unit of Tualatin River National
Wildlife Refuge (Washington County). The birds were along the canal service
road that runs west from near the main parking lot along Highway 99W. They
were near the far east end of that road, not far from the highway, on a
small pond on the north side of the service road. A GREATER YELLOWLEGS was
also visible from the same location. Lots of Mallard families there with
ducklings of various sizes.
