[obol] Yard Bird Count

Hello All,

This has been a fun subject and it has been interesting reading about others
yard lists. I have lived on the north side of Mt. Tabor in Portland since
late 1983. I list birds as yard birds if I have seen or heard them from my
yard, this obviously includes fly overs. My yard list stands at 131 and a
few of these have been pretty good birds. OK, they're all good, but some
have been rare birds and others very good for the middle of a city, such as:
Oregon's 5th record of Canada Warbler, if accepted by the OBRC- Oregon's
first Rufous-sided Towhee, 3 species of falcons, yellow-shafted form of N.
Flicker, Dusky Flycatcher (6 total flycatcher sp), 11 warbler species, Pine
Grosbeak (twice) and Cassin's Finch. I guess it goes to show that if you
live in one place long enough and keep your eyes and ears open, lots of
birds come along.

Good birding, Gerard.
