OBOL, hello!
We stopped here today on our way back from breakfast out at Gales Creek to
see if migratory numbers have picked up yet, and were knocked out of our
socks by the unusually large numbers of Wilson's Snipes standing around
sunning themselves out in plain view and calm as can be: preening and
basking without a care in the world. We counted 31 right from the little
observation deck, and one across the street in the little pond with the
multi-tiered nest box.
Where? . . City of Forest Grove, approximately 1.7 miles north of the
intersection of Hwy 47 and Pacific Ave. Thomas Bros Portland Street Guide,
page 591, square J2. Coming from Forest Grove; Beal Pond is on the left.

ADA accessible? . .Wheeler and walker access is pretty good from a sidewalk;
and the pond is easily viewed from a nicely constructed platform, complete
with benches and a kiosk. No overhead shelter; but plenty of parking.
Gourmet Coffee? . . No.
Restrooms? . . No
