[obol] Probable Barred Owl in Newport

Hi,

   On Nov. 8, Paul Reed saw a probable BARRED OWL in Newport with his
unaided eyes.  The owl was about half way along the trail from Nye Street
to Sam Moore Park in northwest Newport.  A trailhead is located between NW
8th and NW 9th streets just opposite to Betsy Wheeler Park.

   Paul noted its large size (over a foot long), vertically striped belly,
and lack of ear tufts.

   On 31 Oct. 2006, Leah Feinberg saw and photographed a BARRED OWL along
the same trail.
