Yesterday during a COASST beached bird survey on Clatsop Beaches north
of Gearhart, Clatsop Co. Mike Patterson and Steve Warner located a color
banded SNOWY PLOVER foraging in the high wrack line. They called me and
I went out with my scope to confirm the band combo. Successful, I sent
the information to Dave and Kathy who direct the Oregon Coast plover
management for the Oregon Natural Heritage Program and the responded
with the information quoted below. Fun stuff!
I worked on the plover management project on the central coast with Dave
and Kathy, Ken Popper, Julie Fukuda, and Eric Scheuering in 2000. It is
always fun to see the fruits of our labors!
Enjoying Oregon Coastal Living,
David
