Hi folks,

Don't think I ever posted this to OBOL but when I covered Coffin Butte
in Benton County for the NAMC a couple of weeks ago (15 Sep), at least
four Western Wood-Pewees were still around. A couple of them looked like
juveniles and were interacting constantly, which made me think that they
might have been siblings from the ones that nested on the butte this
summer, and were still hanging around. So it seems conceivable that
migrants could still be coming through.

I guess the neotropical migrants might not have seen this "November-
like" weather coming (just like our next-door neighbors who didn't
manage to get their new deck stained & sealed), so perhaps we'll be
seeing more of them in unaccustomed circumstances this week.

Good birding,
Joel

P.S. Hendrik Herlyn shows a late date of 12 Oct (1978) for Western Wood-
Pewee, in his draft /Birds of Benton County/.
