I once observed a Loggerhead Shrike north of Pasco, WA, flying down a road carrying a Brewer's Sparrow by the breast with it's feet. The sparrow was still alive and beating it's wings in an upside down flight that did not seem to interfere with the shrike's ability to carry the bird Wilson Cady Washougal, WA
