In the 2nd & 3rd week of August, up to 4 Band-tailed pigeons were
visiting and eating berries from a cascara tree near our yard here on
the edge of the valley in the Illinois Valley, Josephine Co.

During the last 2 weeks, flocks (could be one flock?) of about 20 to
35 Band-taileds have been in the vicinity and are often in Madrone
trees foraging on the berries. Saw a large flock as recently as Oct
12. Many madrones here are LOADED with berries this season.
