[obol] Fall Folliage Peak

I was so struck by the spectacular fall folliage on
Hwy 34 from Waldport to about 28 miles inland this
afternoon, I wanted to share it with my fellow
OBOLers....I think we may be right at the peak....so
if you live on the coast like me, I encourage you to
take a quick trip inland. The big leaf and vine maples
are really putting on a show this year with the colors
being more vivid and with more oranges mixed in than
what I've seen in the last couple of years. I also
think the colors really popped out today because it
had just rained and the lighting was perfect. It was
as gorgeous an autumn show as anything I've ever seen
in the Appalachians, the Ozarks, eastern Tennessee, or
New England.

Forgive me for posting a non-bird message but I do so
because I know these things have to be timed just
right and I wanted to get the word out. It was so
beautiful I may go back tomorrow for birding as I
didn't have time for that today (OK, now it's
technically a birding message).
