This is really cool stuff.
They have more than 600 bird spp barcoded (over
300,000 spp in total) and predict in a few years to
have handheld species ID devices. They are basically
using birds to ground truth the system.

99.8% DNA similarity in 8 "species" of white-headed
larids....even more similar than between American Crow
and Northwestern Crow. Blue-winged Teal and Cinnamon
Teal are identical.
