I spent Fri am at and east of Broughton Beach. There weren't many grebes, they were scattered, and moved around within the 1/2 mile east of the parking lot. At first there was one obviousWestern(yellow/green bill, black back and full black around eye) with a probable Clark's(bright yellow/orange bill, greyer back, barely smaller, quite a bit of white around the eye). Over the next 2 hours I walked past the 2nd set of pilings and saw a distant Horned Grebe near a cove. Returning to the 2nd pilings I saw 1 Red necked Grebe. I only saw 4 grebes;never more then 2 at the same time, nor in the same area, and all were distinctly different. Also present 4 GWF Geese, a C Merganser, and afemale Scaup. David Smith
