A note to obolniks that Hendrik Herlyn and I will be working (probably with
OSU Press) on a "field friendly" handbook of Oregon birds that will serve as
a highly portable companion to Marshall et al 2003 Birds of Oregon. It will
have a complete map set, including winter ranges, short summary versions of
species accounts, expanded vagrant accounts with seasonal graphs and, in
some cases, notes on i.d. issues. If we are sufficiently productive, we
expect it to be available in 2009.
