OBOL,

At this time of year I try and make a stop late in the day at Putnam's Point, at the south end of Upper Klamath Lake. Gulls heading to their roosting location can be easily counted as they fly up the Link River. Tonight, from 5:30-6:15 there were approx. 2300 Bonaparte's Gull and about 5500 Ring-billed/California Gull. I might try it again tomorrow, getting there a little earlier.

Also, while on a bike ride on Hill Rd., heard/saw a Black Phoebe near Neese Lk. Ironically, it was very close to "Lost River Rd." a private driveway. The bird wasn't that close to the Lost River, (I usually find them along the water systems in the Klamath Basin). So, with this bird sort of a distance away from the river (1/4 mile), I thought it comical it was close to the sign with that label. Maybe they can read!
