Hello:
Anyone else have an especially busy back yard this season?

I am in a residential area in NE Portland, and my feeders are jamming
lately. I think I have a wider variety of birds at one time than I've
ever had. New visitors include a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and a
BEWICK'S WREN. I have never seen either of those two birds in my yard.

Just today at lunch I saw:

Golden crowns
White crowns
Goldfinches
House finches
Fox sparrow
House sparrow
Tree sparrow
Lincoln sparrow (I think...)
White-throated sparrow
Spotted towhee
Bewick's wren
Anna's hummingbird
Juncos (Oregon and slate races)
Northern flicker
black-capped chickadee
Mourning doves
American crows
Stupid starlings

We keep track of the species that have visited our yard. After five
years, we have hit 30. Is that a lot for a residential backyard? I
have no idea. But it's great fun!

Lisa
