The SABINE'S GULL continues on Del Rey Beach near the amorphous blob.
It was actually spending a lot of time hanging out at the access ramp
to Del Rey Beach.
Steve and I watched the ocean for about a half hour after counting
dead stuff. Best birds were 5 ARCTIC TERNS heading north just past
the surf. There was lots of just past the surf activity today. SOOTY
SHEARWATERS were very close to shore as were murres and grebes. We
heard and saw a warbling COMMON LOON. PACIFIC and RED-THROATED LOONS
were also around in good numbers.
We saw large flocks of NORTHERN PINTAIL and smaller flocks of GREEN-WINGED
TEAL, sometimes going south, sometimes north.
We heard an AMERICAN PIPIT at Del Rey and saw 2 at Necanicum Estuary.
