Andy,

Your photos show a juvenile SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER. The pale base to the 
short stubby bill and the yellow legs are both features lacking in 
Wilson's Plover. It is always nice to find Semipalmated Plovers in the 
county though.

This morning I walked along the Columbia River from Broughton Beach off NE
Marine Drive in Portland.  I found one Plover that I think may be a 
WILSON'S
PLOVER.  There are 4 photos at http://andyfrank.blogspot.com/.

I would appreciate comments from any more familiar with Wilson's Plover 
than
I (which is probably most of those reading this).
