18 Sept 2007
Nehalem, Tillamook Co.

Today I saw a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD juvenile in the evergreen blackberry
hedgerow that parallels the south fence of the Nehalem Sewage Ponds. The
bird was eating blackberries and being conspicuous and moving around
quite a bit. I first noted the mocking bird while standing at the
southeast corner of the south settling pond.

Directly west of the parking area to the sewage ponds I observed in the
same scope view a juvenile RED-SHOULDERED HAWK and WHITE-TAILED KITE. No
Violet-green or Tree Swallows, but there were a couple NORTHERN
ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS calling from the high flying swarm of BARN
SWALLOWS overhead.
