OBOL:

24 birders -- including 4 local experts -- joined Carol Karlen & me for an 
Audubon Birding Weekend trip to Tillamook county, Sept. 22-23.

Highlights:
25 elk - swimming across Meares Lake on Sunday morning
28 elk - at Alder Cr. Farm preserve, Nehalem, on Sunday afternoon

1         White-fronted Goose - Nehalem meadows
100's   Brown Pelicans
2         Am. Bitterns - Lake Meares
1         Green Heron - Nehalem meadows
2         White-tailed  Kites - Nehalem meadows
1         Anna's Hummingbird - Cape Lookout St. Pk.
2         Red-breasted Sapsuckers - Cape Lookout St. Pk [new for me in the 
county!]
1         Black Phoebe - Fenk Rd
2         Hutton's Vireos - vocal at Whiskey Cr. fishhatchery and Cape 
Lookout St. Pk.
1         Wrentit - Short Beach, south of Cape Meares
2        Townsend's Warblers - Cape Lookout St. Pk.
6        Red Crossbills - on beach near Bay City sewage pond and in treetops 
at Cape Meares
1        Mourning Dove - Nehalem meadows

0        Mockingbird - Nehalem meadows, even though we tried
