Thank you for the update. Your comment about the priorities of the
structures at Cabin Lake strikes me as odd.
I remember reading a log book in one of the birding blinds that showed
visitors had been viewing
and photographying birds at Cabin Lake for over 25 years. I agree that
water is important to all species,
especially in the desert. It is hard to tell humans that have used, visited
and been a small part of the area for
the last 25 years (or longer) that the original design and purpose is now
secondary.
As a photographer friend once told me, he always designs the set to get the
best possible photo. If items have been
put in place for wildlife use but conflict with the view of the photographer
they might get adjusted depending who is
using blinds. After all, for 25 plus years things have going pretty good.
