Thought some of you obolites might want to combine some birding fun with
some resource work at Malheur. See below:

LAST MALHEUR WORK PARTY OF THE SEASON - October 18 - 21, 2007.



Potted shrubs we've been tending are now dormant and ready for planting in
Mud Creek which burned last year.  They will help stabilize the soil,
start the riparian restoration and eventually provide late season berries
for migrating songbirds.



We sure could use some volunteers that understand which is the working end
of a shovel to help get them in the ground. Feel free to come for any or
all those days.  There is limited space to put sleeping bags indoors, and
plenty of room to RV or tent under the elms and use the meeting house
bathroom and kitchen facilities.



As usual, we will include some fun; tour the nether regions of the Refuge,
make a last run up the Steens, or eat and drink around the fireplace if it
snows. :-)
