Jim Heaney finally spotted a CASPIAN TERN in the bay
(Coos Bay) on 4/1/2008. I saw more today. They tend
to be seen on the north coast earlier than here
although you know they have to be flying by Coos Co.
on their way up to the Columbia River.

Saw my first male COMMON YELLOWTHROAT out on the north
spit today- 2 April. Also, many singing OC WARBLERS
and loads of singing SAVANNAH SPARROWS.

The numbers of migrating GREATER YELLOWLEGS have
noticeably picked up also, saw 8 out on the north spit
on the 1st. They have been migrating north since
mid-March but only in ones to fours until the last few
days.

Merry migration!
