Blake - Mt Tabor is a volcano - see: http://vulcan.wr.usgs.gov/Volcanoes/Oregon/Portland/description_portland_vicinity.html<http://vulcan.wr.usgs.gov/Volcanoes/Oregon/Portland/description_portland_vicinity.html>
I have always thought it was pretty cool to have been born on the flank of a volcano, as was another famous Oregon birder, Dr. Love.
cheers,
Mary Anne Sohlstrom

Subject: [obol] Jumping on the Warbler Wagon at Mt. Tabor
There were a handful of both Orange-crowned and Townsend's Warblers around Mt. Tabor late this afternoon. Rufous Hummingbirds were much in evidence and many Varied Thrush remained. A singing Lesser Goldfinch is acting as though he's on territory near the southeast edge of the summit. The only empid was a lone Pacific-slope Flycatcher foraging around the so-called "volcano." Many a Band-tailed Pigeon formed the zenith of Doug Firs.
Best wishes & Good birding
