I went out at 8am to make my morning yard check after it had warmed up a bit outside. Glad I didn't wait any longer. At once a very bright yellow warbler flew from some shrubbery low across the yard, directly toward me. It landed to forage briefly on a low rosebush about 25 ft away. I had opportunity to give it a quick once-over with binoculars before it flew off again into the sunshine, going across my front at eye level about 10 ft away. Small, plump-bodied, face and underparts all plain yellow, dusky olive crown. It contrasted beautifully with the peak-of-bloom red of the flowering currant next to the scrawny rosebush.
