The Ladd Marsh Birdathon began in 2006 as the brainchild of the Eastern
Oregon University Biology Club.  It was such a great idea that it has
grown and expanded and begun to take on something of a life of its own.
This year, in addition to the Saturday activities, we have a
presentation planned for Friday evening and just a couple field trips
for Sunday morning. Most important for experienced birders, who may not
wish to take advantage of staffed birding stations, portions of the
wildlife area that are normally closed will be open to registered
participants both Saturday and Sunday.  

 

Please check out the link and plan to join us at Ladd Marsh.  It is a
great time to bird other areas of Union County, too!

 

We plan to continue growing and expanding the Birdathon in the coming
years to offer more tours, presentations and field trips.  If you attend
in these early stages, some day you may be telling people "I remember
when this was just a small, local event."
