OBOL,
This morning (4 April) I birded Skinner Butte, Eugene from about 7:15 to
8:45 and found the following migrants.
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (150 +/-)
Orange-crowned Warbler (20-30)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (100+/-) most Audubon's, but a few myrtles
Black-throated Gray Warbler (1)
Townsend's Warbler (10)
Most of the activity was along the east end of the butte, near the EWEB
reservoir, and at the NW corner of the butte in the Bigleaf Maples with the
flowers just starting to open. Once the sprinkles started at about 8:00,
the activity diminished considerably, especially in the NW corner.
Also, a Bald Eagle was sitting on the nest on the north side of the butte
and an Osprey was on the nest near the top of the butte.
