I decided to brave the rain this afternoon and went to Smith and
Bybee Lakes in North Portland. Saw my first of year BARN SWALLOW.
Other birds of note: VIRGINIA RAIL heard at end of the dirt path,
GREATER YELLOWLEGS also heard at end of path, SHARP-SHINNED HAWK,
GREAT HORNED OWL still on nest across Bybee Lake, and an OSPREY on a
nest.
