A CHIPPING SPARROW, working on growing its rusty cap after a dull winter, appeared in my yard feeder area this morning (April 7, 2008), I have seen one or two Chipping Sparrows migrating through the yard in spring or fall on only a few occasions in the 31 years I have lived at this location. -- Barbara Combs obie '70 Eugene OR
