Last evening my husband and I observed a beautifully plumaged Lincoln's Sparrow foraging in our backyard in NW Corvallis. It's a first for our yard, which is always fun to get, and a joy to see. Also heard a Townsend's Warbler singing from the Douglas fir next door. This morning a Fox Sparrow availed himself/herself of our yard to scratch around in.And I'm hearing Yellow-rumps singing around the yard as well. Between the bees and other insects buzzing around and the Violet-Green Swallows swooping and calling overhead, it is a very busy place. Happy spring birding to all.
