FYI:
Orange-crowned Warbler moved on Friday, April 11th.
Golden-crowned Sparrow in breeding plumage arrived Saturday, April 12
White-crowned Sparrow arrived Sunday, April 13
Oregon Juncos, still a few around Sunday April 13.
Great Blue Heron, flew over the house. Interesting because it was flying with its neck extended. Saw me, continued
flying and landed at the very tip-top of a big Douglas Fir. Looked silly sitting up there. Sunday, April 13.
Black-capped Chickadees, on Friday, April 11th population rose from two to four. Lots of singing and chasing.
Song Sparrows, two the resident birds
Rufous Hummingbirds, females and immatures.
Anna's Hummingbirds, now seeing females more often than males. Thought courtship behavior had stopped, but
heard and saw a male diving and defending territory.
Bushtits. On cold mornings they come by in a small flock. When its warm I see them in pairs.
Scrub Jays are now very secretive.
Hermit Thrush, Friday, April 11th. Heard two calling back and forth from somewhere in the neighborhood.
Only called a couple times.
Varried Thrush, Friday, April 11th I heard several calling in the neighborhood. Have not heard them since Friday.
American Robins at the bird bath daily.
Starlings, took the suet down to discourage them. Will put it back up in a couple days if the weather is not too warm.
Northern Flicker, playing the kettle drum on the neighbor's roof, Saturday April 12th at 6:30 a.m.
Pacific Chorus/Tree Frogs singing in the garden started Saturday, continue today.
Red-tailed Hawk, April 12. Seems to be hunting roofs for squirrels.
Turkey Vultures. Not really in my garden. Saw two April 12 at the Zimmerman Farm about 8:00a.m.
