I finally was able to get outside to ID some of the birds that have been coming through the back yard today. Several small-bird flocks have been gracing our maples and blackberries, but I was eating dinner, and did not ID them. Among the flocks, I have had a NASHVILLE WARBLER, several LESSER GOLDFINCHES, O. C. WARBLER, AUDUBONS YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, TOWNSENDS WARBLER, an oddity which surprised me was a single COMMON YELLOWTHROAT. I had one flycatcher species which I did not hear but saw briefly and could not ID... I would lean towards HAMMOND's. We still have a visit from the RUFOUS HUMMERS daily, but not as frequently. And our local RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER.
It has been a fun year, with many new-to-the-backyard birds.
Good birding
