Many thanks to Andy and Harry for posting this bird to OBOL, as I wasn't near a computer most of the day.
For those who are interested, I'd like to provide more precise directions. Take 223rd Ave. north off of Marine Drive. However, do not turn left into Chinook Landing. In 1/4 mi., this public road ends at the Truck Entrance to some sort of mill. There is a large pullout on the left side of 223rd Ave. Park here. The bird was initially seen working the edges of a pond perhaps 60 or 70 meters north of the road.
Then it flew into the slough which parallels the road and is right next to the road. Then it flew to another pond that is NNW of the road, and which can be viewed better from the bike path that parallels Chinook Landing Rd. Next if flew across Chinook Landing Rd. and worked the edges the slough over there. This portion of the slough can best be viewed from a path that parallels it.
Finally, the bird flew back to its original location. So there are several places it can be, but they are for the most part easily viewed (just not at the same time).
Good luck you county listers :-)
Good birding, Mike
