Starlings were introduced in an effort to bring to the U.S. the birds
mentioned in Shakespeare. All you literature fans, a moment of silence for
the things high-minded ignorance can do.
Good thing we already have Kites, Cormorants and Robins, even though they
are not the same species as in England, or who knows what sort of natural
environment we would have.
